I have been painting rounds lately. It makes me feel good...haha
Since I have been using new clays and new glazes after started working at my own studio.. I'm not sure how these come out of kiln..but pretty exciting, isn't it!
I hope I can bright good work to the Lohas Festa in Tokyo!

*it got crack on the lip of the blue bowl...so cut the lip about 1.5cm and curved the surface...it looks quite interesting...don't you think??


最近また、まるまる描いてます。やっぱり“○”は気分がいいですね！
自分の工房で働きだしてから、土も釉薬もまだまだ慣れないので、焼き上がりがどう出るか、とっても楽しみです。
ロハスフェスタに、いい作品、持っていけるようにがんばります！

＊青い鉢の口が製作中にかけてしまいました。高さを削り、汚れた表面を荒削りしたら、なんかいい感じになったような。。このまま焼いてみます！

　I went to shizuoka last weekend to visit "ART&CRAFT SHIZUOKA". It was fun and I bought these sweet little wooden pots with ivy by Hiroshige Kadena(hope I'm reading his name correctly...)..

Well, here are some works before bisque firing that I have been working on. Lately, using a lot of colors... I'm still trying to figure out which clay or color I choose to use, so really wondering what color they get when they are fired...haha

　先週末、静岡の手創り市にいってきました。護国神社で開かれるこのクラフト展、とても素敵な感じでした！　今回は、嘉手納 広重さんの木のマメヅタ鉢。。とってもかわいいです〜！ありがとうございました！

そんな私は、５月のロハスフェスタに向けて作品制作中ですが、最近は色物が多いです。まだ、土や色を試行錯誤中なので，，これらの色も本焼きの後。。。どんな色になるのか楽しみです。。

It's been a while...again.

It was in January? when I did the first firing... it's been a while..but finally, I could do the second bisque firing yesterday. I'm still feeling some pain on my shoulder and arm and can't work as much as I want.
But, I'll be having a booth at Lohas Festa in May, so, have to make new pieces!!! I will try to update this blog with pictures of my work more often!!!

窯を買って、初焼成をしたのが。。。もう、１月だったでしょうか？？？　やっと。。。２度目の素焼きを昨日しました！　いまだに肩と腕に痛みがあって、思うように作業が進められないのですが、今年も５月のロハスフェスタでの出展が決まったので、作品づくり、がんばらないとです！また、ぽつぽつと、出来上がった作品の写真も一緒に、ブログの方の更新も。。。がんばります〜〜！

The first glazed firing!

It's been about a month since my last entry. I'm sorry it took so long. My right shoulder and elbow still hurt and I have to take it easy for a while. But, it's hard for me not to do anything, haha...So, I finally did the first glazed firing last night! This time, as a test, I used 5 or 6 different clays and 3 glazes. hum...not so great... it's going to be a long way to find my kind of clays and good glazes for them..

最後のエントリーから、ほぼ一ヶ月が経ってしまいました。右肩と肘がまだ痛く、あまり作業ができないのです。。といっても、何もしないのも耐えられないこの私。昨夜、やっと本焼き焼成しました！今回はテストピースとして、４−５種類の土と、３種類の釉薬を使ってみました。いまいちのでき。。。まだまだ長い道のりだな．．いい土がみつかるといいな！

Calender for 2011

I made small collage calenders last year, using Azami's batik-print calender paper. Since Azami's people became older and couldn't make their own calender for every year, I started to do my own way of collaborating with them...it's fun and great time doing so! Here is 5 sets of this year's calender!!

去年、あざみのろうけつ染めのカレンダーの紙を使って、小さなコラージュカレンダーをつくりました。あざみの方達は、高齢になって、段々と毎年のカレンダー作りが出来なくなってしまっているそうなんです。なので、あざみとのコラボって感じで、今年も５セット、カレンダー作ってみました。とても楽しい時間です！

（あざみ寮は、昭和28年、知的障がいのある年長女子のための職業施設として、糸賀一雄氏が大津市に私塾として創設された後、昭和44年に知的障害者更生施設としてこの地で再スタートされたところです。縁あってずっとカレンダーを分けてもらっていたのです）

First Firing!!!

This is my very first firing with my own kiln!!! It's just only biscuit firing but was great! My kiln is an automatic small electric kiln, about 10 firing patterns are already set, so I just push the bottom for each firing, so nothing to worry about..haha. Now, I should start glazing these pieces and make a plan for a real firing!!! I'm excited!!!

自分の窯での初釜です〜！といっても、こちらは素焼きで、まだ出来上がりではありません。でも、まずまずの焼き上がり。　この窯は電気窯で約１０パターンの焼き方が既にセッティングされているので、私はボタンをピッ！っと押すだけ！問題なし！今度は、釉薬をかけて、本焼きの準備です。　楽しみですよ〜〜〜！（実はちょっと心配ですが。。。汗）
