Serizawa Museum in Shizuoka!

I visited Keisuke Serizawa museum in Shizuoka to see "Nukumori no aru Katachi(Form with warmth)" exhibition. It was the last day for the exhibition and it was great!
I'm not sure since when, but I somehow likes doors, I used to sit for hours in front of a Spanish door in The Museum of Fine Art, Boston, when I was there. Today's my favorite was a door of grain warehouse from Mari. When I search Mari's door on internet, there are a lot of decorative doors appear... the door from Serizawa's collection is quite simple! I like it very much.

Oh, I forgot to mention yesterday that I made a test piece for aroma pot, too. It's quite difficult to make a right size plate to hold water which should be enough to a candle to finish....

今日は、静岡にある、芹沢銈介美術館に行ってきました。「ぬくもりのあるかたち」展、最終日。なんとしても。。。と、車を飛ばしてきました！　いつの頃からか、扉がとても好きで、ボストンにいた事は、ボストン美術館のスペインの扉の前に、何時間も座っていたものでした今日の一番のお気に入りも、やはり扉で、マリの穀物倉庫の扉だったもの。マリの扉でネット検索すると、たくさんの彫刻が施された扉がいくつか紹介されていましたが、芹沢さんのコレクションの子の扉はとても素朴なものでした。

あと、昨日、紹介し忘れましたが、アロマポットのテストピースも作ってみました。ロウソクが燃えつきるまで、水がなくならないように、ちょうどいいサイズのポッとを作るのはなかなか難しそうです。

New Plus pieces!

How long has it been since I wrote here. I'm sorry it took a while. I was away for a while and also my right shoulder still hurts...so the working pace is kinda slow. But, few new test pieces for Plus series came out of kiln the other day and I'm happy. Again, this process is time-consuming job...but, I like it. My friend keeps asking me to make a curry bowl, and this is the first test piece for that as well. It became a bit too small as I expected...

久しぶりの投稿です。しばらく旅行に行っていたり、以前痛めた肩が、まだ本調子じゃなかったりで。。制作ペースもかなりスローになってしまっています。
今日は久々に、新しいテストピースが窯からあがり、ちょっといい気分。この子達も、これまた手間のかかる作業となるのですが、案外面白いんじゃないかな？と思っています。
もうしばらく前から、友達に何度となくカレー皿が欲しいな〜と言われているんですが。。横長の作品は、カレー皿にどうかな。。？と。。。やっぱり少し小さくなりすぎちゃいましたけど。。

Wings!

My friend who bought a plus cap the other day is an aroma therapist. She loves and collects wing objects and has this wing logo on her business card. I wanted to give her something so I put wings on a bowl and gave that to her! I'm glad she liked it!!

先日、プラスのカップを買ってくださった友達は、アロマセラピストさんです。羽が大好きらしく、いろいろな羽もののものを集めたり、彼女の名刺には、この羽マークが描かれています。そのロゴからデザインを取って、こんなボールを作ってプレゼントしました！　気に入ってくれたようです！

Some pieces are up today. Pieces I'm putting pictures here are came out as I expected...but the Que Sera plate I had been working on was busted... shocking..
I wish I have my own kiln so I can re-fire it... I should ask someone to do that for me... hum...

今日もいくつかの作品が窯からあがってきました。

が、Que Seraの大皿は。。。失敗でした。。ショック。

Last week??, my new friend called me up out of the blue and we had a good chat at McDonald's, haha. On her way to meet another friend, I asked her to stop by at my place. I wanted to show some of my pieces to her since we talked about my ceramic work. I didn't expected her to buy anything, but she bought one plus series cup that day. She sent me a picture of how she is using it! that's so cute!!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

先週でしたか、新しいお友だちから突然のお電話。久々のマックでおしゃべりしました！　彼女とは、以前から、陶芸の話も何度かしていたので、他の友達にも会いに行くところ、ちょっとだけお家に寄ってもらい作品を見てもらいました。。。もちろん、営業のつもりはまったくなかったのですが、「これ気に入った！」といって、プラスシリーズのカップをひとつ連れて帰ってくれました。　後日、こんな風に使ってますよ〜と、お写真送って頂きました。
本当にありがとうございました〜！

I was gone to Tokyo for a while.

I was gone to Tokyo for a while.
While I was gone, there are some new pieces came out of kiln. 4 of my regular plus series cups and one dot series plate. This dot series is a bit different from my old type. I was inspired by MIyosawa's work which I saw in Matsumoto museum and I made this plate for Ms. M who introduced him to us.

The last picture is one I took in Nihon mingei kan in Tokyo.

しばらく東京にいってました。
その間に焼き上がっていた作品が数点。定番のプラスシリーズのカップが４つと、ドットシリーズの器がひとつ。こちらのドットは、先日松本市美術館で開かれていた展示、三代澤本寿さんの作品に影響を受けて、今までの配列とちょっと違ったドット配列です。
このお皿は、その三代澤さんを紹介してくださったMさんに。
